Helen of Troy braceletBorn in the Bronx, fashion accessory designer Masani skillfully blended her Caribbean descent and her urbanized upbringing to master the art of jewelry making. Handcrafted out of sterling silver, gold, coral and other natural materials, Masani Wearable Sculptures are one of a kind works of art that reflects the underlying complexity of minimalist concepts and designs. After receiving a B.F.A degree in fashion merchandising and an M.A in jewelry design at Pratt Institute's School of Art and Design in Brooklyn, she worked with the famed SoHo designer Robert Lee Morris before exclusively creating her own designs. Work is an essential part of life. For starters we are judged by our careers. Go to a party sometime and the first thing people ask after an introduction is ‘so what do you do?' If your job is prestigious they admire you, if it's lucrative they resent you and if it's satisfying they respect you a lot. We sometimes hate to get out of bed on a Monday morning but deep down inside we are grateful. Work pays the bills, keeps us busy and gives us a sense of security. Sometimes a false sense of security…
