Upon visiting the African Arts Festival, one can’t help to notice the Afro-centric music, activities, aroma of tastings and trends in African fashion design. To examine trends in African fashion design, one must first begin to embrace the culture and consciousness of the African spirit.
A seasonal fashion event that has single-handedly placed the
fashion spotlight on Brooklyn for emerging designers is hosted by the non-profit Brooklyn Style Foundation, and was
on March 18th, The
event featured 8
designers, and was showcased in an evening of
action packed excitement at Brooklyn's bourough hall on Joralemon St..
The presenting collections were by Joan Vacciana, Catou, Molly Spinach,
Black Girls Rock! Inc., SENA, Muse by DLW, and Simon Duncan.
